Automated Microscale Continuously Closed Cup Flash Point Analyzer

Koehler Instrument Company, Inc. (USA) is pleased to announce our new K24880 Automatic Microscale Continuously Closed Cup Flash Point Analyzer. This state-of-the-art instrument is widely-used in the flash point measurement of petroleum products, transformer oil, turbine oil, paint, perfumes, wood preservative oil, animal and vegetable oil, pesticide emulsifier, high viscosity materials, plasticizers and other substances. In addition, the analyzer yields correlative results to the Pensky-Martens’ Closed Cup method, and the Small Scale Rapid Equilibrium Closed Cup methods by adjusting parameters. This is due to excellent correlation between these test methods.

Mini Flash Point Analyzer

Key features include fully automatic determination of flash points and automatic corrections for ambient atmospheric pressure. A small sample size of only 1mL to 2mL is required for each test. Less sample demand equals lower test cost and less pollution. In addition, the analyzer offers high performance due to its continuously closed operation with no open flame to ensure high levels of safety. The instrument also includes an Industrial Touch Screen User Interface with a built-in 7-inch touch screen.

Software capabilities include the following: Built-in standard test methods which can be correlated to other closed cup methods, and real-time display of temperature and pressure curves. Also included are convenient USB and Network connections such as an RS232 interface for connection to a thermal printer, USB interface for connection with a mouse or storage device and an Internet (Ethernet) line.

The Koehler Automatic Continuously Closed Cup Flash Point Analyzer conforms to ASTM D6450. The measurement is made on a specimen of just 1 mL. It utilizes a closed, yet unsealed, cup with air injected into the test chamber and is proficient at testing samples with a flash point from 10°C to 250°C. It also conforms to ASTM D7094. This test method covers the determination of the flash point of fuels including diesel/biodiesel blends, lube oils, solvents and other liquids by a continuously closed cup tester, using a specimen size of 2 mL, a cup size of 7 mL, and a heating rate of 2.5°C per minute. This test method utilizes a closed, but unsealed, cup with air injected into the test chamber and is suitable for testing samples with a flash point from 35°C to 225°C.

Specifications include the following: Conforms to the specifications of ASTM D6450, ASTM D7094 with excellent correlation to ASTM D93, ASTM D3828, EN ISO 3679/3680, ISO2719, SH/T 0768, SN/T 3077.2, DL/T 1354, GB/T 261, GB/T 21615, GB/T 5208 and GB/T 21790.
